As the affordable housing crisis intensifies across the region, Wesley Housing continues to innovate and grow. These development projects include both new construction and substantial rehabilitation efforts that preserve affordability and improve sustainability. Each new community is developed with a focus on inclusion, accessibility, and long-term affordability, ensuring that households with low and moderate incomes can live in thriving, opportunity-rich neighborhoods. 

 

Below is a year-end snapshot of what’s under construction and what’s moving forward in our development pipeline.

 

Under Construction:

• Wesley Apartments, Lynchburg, VA [Rehabilitation]
  150 units, Housing for Older Adults

• One Hawaii, Washington, DC [New Construction]
  70 units, Multifamily Housing
  Expected completion: Early 2026 | www.onehawaiidc.com 
   

• Beacon Landing, Fairfax, VA [New Construction]
  in partnership with The Lamb Center
  54 units, Permanent Supportive Housing
  Expected completion: Late 2026 | www.beaconlandingva.com  

 

In the Pipeline: 

• Kindred Crossing, Falls Church, VA [New Construction]
  in partnership with First Christian Church of Falls Church
  95 units, Housing for Older Adults 
  Anticipated completion: 2027

 

Kindred Crossing was recently awarded a $1M grant from Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and authorization of the issuance of $16M in tax-exempt bonds from the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA), further setting up the community to close financing in Spring 2026. 

 

• Melwood-Wesley Inclusive Community, Arlington, VA [New Construction]
  in partnership with Melwood
  105 units, Multifamily Housing
  Anticipated completion: 2029

• Potomac Yard Development (Landbay G-G), Alexandria, VA [New Construction]
  Approximately 88 units, Multifamily Housing
  Anticipated completion: 2029 

 

This month, Alexandria’s City Council unanimously approved special use permits for the development which is part of a large-scale development with JBG SMITH and Toll Brothers. The project team will now begin working through the permitting process. 

  

• ParcView Apartments, Alexandria, VA [Phased Rehabilitation and New Construction]
  373 units (224 new plus 149 existing units), Multifamily Housing
  Anticipated completion: 2027+

 

• Holmead Apartments, Washington, DC [Acquisition and Hold; Rehabilitation]
  99 units, Multifamily Housing
  Anticipated completion: 2028+

 

• Epworth Manor, Louisa, VA [Rehabilitation and New Construction]
  127 units (54 new plus 73 existing units), Housing for Older Adults 
  Anticipated completion: 2028+

 

• Peele Manor, Blackstone, VA [Rehabilitation and New Construction]
  48 units (24 new plus 24 existing units), Housing for Older Adults
  Anticipated completion: 2028+
