1.1 Message Types
Text messages sent from Wesley Housing include:
- Updates about youth, family, and resident services programs

- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- Information about educational, health, financial wellness, and other supportive services
- Time-sensitive community resource notifications and service updates
1.2 Non-Marketing Service
This SMS service is not a marketing or promotional service. Messages are informational and service-related in nature, relating to resident services programs, community resources, appointments, and other services offered by Wesley Housing.
2. Consent and Opt-In
Your consent to receive SMS messages is entirely voluntary. Providing consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving resident services, community resources, housing assistance, or any other Wesley Housing service. You may decline to receive SMS messages without affecting your eligibility for Wesley Housing programs or services.
Your consent is independent: You may apply for housing, request information, or schedule appointments with Wesley Housing without agreeing to receive SMS messages.
3. Phone Number Requirements
To receive SMS messages, you must provide a valid mobile phone number capable of receiving text messages. You are responsible for:
- Providing an accurate phone number
- Maintaining active mobile service
- Keeping your phone number current (notify us of changes)
- Authorizing the use of that phone number for SMS messages
4. Message and Data Rates
You acknowledge that standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to SMS messages received from Wesley Housing. These rates depend on your cell phone plan and carrier. Wesley Housing is not responsible for any charges or fees assessed by your mobile carrier.
4.1 Carrier Liability
Your mobile carrier’s standard rates and terms apply. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan, available options, and associated costs.
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your interactions with Wesley Housing. Frequency depends on:
- Programs or services in which you participate or have expressed interest
- Upcoming events, appointments, activities, or important dates
- Schedule changes or other time-sensitive program updates
- The availability of relevant community resources and supportive services
We aim to send only necessary, relevant messages. Message frequency may vary.
6. How to Stop Receiving Messages
You have full control over your SMS preferences at any time:
6.1 Text “STOP” to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message from Wesley Housing to unsubscribe. Your opt-out will be processed within one message cycle. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message. You will no longer receive SMS messages from Wesley Housing unless you re-opt-in.
6.2 Opt-Out Impact
Opting out of SMS messages will not:
- Affect your housing application status
