This spring, many exciting projects are budding in our real estate development department. We are currently working on opening 650+ doors to low-income families in our region such as:
The Hampshire Washington, DC
We recently acquired our fourth community in Northwest DC. This 53-unit property increases our DC portfolio to nearly 200 units. We are eager to provide much needed safety and operational improvements to the property and give the current residents a place they are proud to call home.
The Arden Fairfax County, VA
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the final plan for The Arden, a 126-unit multi-family rental community plus 7,500 sq. ft. of office space in Huntington. This approval paves the way for Wesley Housing to relocate its main office at the property. The Arden is located a block from the Huntington Metro station. Construction is expected to begin in December 2019.
Culpepper Garden Arlington, VA
Arlington Retirement Housing Corporation selected Wesley Housing as their development partner for this 204-unit seniors community. The $22M renovation includes six new garden apartments, renovated interiors of all units, a multi-purpose room, new public dining area, new public bathrooms, computer lab, and a resident store. 41% of apartments are currently renovated, with completion expected late summer/fall 2020.
In addition, Wesley Housing submitted Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) applications to the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) for three projects:
