Wesley Housing relies on the support of volunteers to carry out our mission of cultivating strong communities and building up our neighbors throughout Virginia and Washington, DC. Learn more and explore current volunteer opportunities below.
Volunteer at one of Wesley Housing’s five Community Resource Centers and help us support the children and families in our communities. Centers are located in Arlington, Alexandria-Lincolnia, Falls Church, and Washington, DC. Wesley’s four Supportive Services Centers for older adults and people with disabilities also provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for those who have a heart and passion in that area. There are many different ways to be involved, including day and evening opportunities, and volunteers can choose their level of commitment as desired. Even a few hours can make a difference!
AART is thrilled to partner with Wesley Housing to provide a free preschool readiness program to residents in the community. Children who participate arrive to kindergarten with fundamental early literacy, cognitive, fine motor and social skills necessary for success in school.
I love meeting the residents and being able to educate and engage with them on ways to better their diets through virtual nutrition workshops. Educating on important health topics has been a great pleasure to me and has taught me how to better reach our community.
It brings us so much joy knowing that we are doing our part to ensure everyone has access to food! We have a lot of fun putting the boxes together for the monthly mobile site food distributions, and it’s all worth it, knowing that it can lighten another person’s load.
